Did you know?           Drifting Requirements

Now to drift, there are a few requirements that are needed before you even start to attack those curbs. It depends on your skill as well and how well you know your cars clutch release point. Without proper instruction or clear idea what is drift, you might end up tipping over your car and endanger yourself or people around you. So please learn the basics before you attempt your first drifting games.

To begin with, you will need a car, obviously, one which is not your parents or your friends; because you don’t want to have the severe scolding or paying back if you damage their car due to irresponsibility. Use your own car if you have one. The best type of cars that are used for beginners in drifting games will probably be a rear wheel drive. We’ll cover that in the other articles as to why a rear wheel drive car is easier than front wheel drive or 4 wheel drive.

Use a manual car preferably because you can then regulate your speed and gear more appropriately. Automatic car can be used but it is way harder because the speed and gear choice are not controlled by you. So use a manual car. If possible, use one which you are very used to, a car where you know the release point of your clutch (certain car requires you release it more than halfway for it to start moving, while others require that you only lift a little). It all depends on the build of the car. Once you have these requirement, you are good to go and start your drifting games practice.

Now you do not want to start your practice in a very crowded area where that are so many things for you to destroy. So please, to spare yourself the court order or jail time, please look for an area where there is absolutely no one and nothing you can destroy. Use an empty field or if you can, go for a track meant for drifting games. But basically, a wide open area should be fine.

The last things you need to start drifting games are spare tires. You do not want to keep the same tires after you have used it to drift around 30 corners. So be ready to spend some cash to buy new tires. Drifting causes extreme wear and tear in the tires because it is going in a direction that is not straight-forward to the wheel.

There you go, these are all the requirements you need before starting to learn how to drift. It will take practice before you can attempt those drifting games though. Please remember, always drive responsibly.
